Sunny Side Eggs + Exciting News!

If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.

-Maya Angelou

A while back I was feeling unwell and I stayed on the couch watching movies almost all day – didn’t have a smidgen of appetite the entire day. When my dad offered to make me some food, I refused, but he insisted that I try to eat. His little trick was that he began to fry garlic in a pan. The smell instantly sparked my hunger. It was like some kind of sorcery. He made me breakfast for dinner, because who doesn’t love that? He made me eggs with fried garlic and seasoning pepper. Ever since then, I have really enjoyed making that exact thing for breakfast. Everyone knows how to make sunny-side-up eggs. I think that the first, most basic thing anyone ever learns to cook is egg. But this dish is somehow so much better than just regular eggs or even omelets. I would have taken a picture of the deliciousness, but I didn’t have a decent camera (my phone camera is not very good and my nice camera was stolen a long while back). This brings me to my exciting news

My mom and dad, being the kind and bighearted people they are, decided to surprise me with a new camera today! I was supposed to get it for my birthday, but I asked my dad if they could give the gift to me earlier and he agreed to it. We were supposed to go pick it up at the store this Saturday, as per the plan. However, they must of known how much I have missed having a camera (it has been a few years since my Canon Rebel T2i was stolen along with all the lenses). So, after we had dinner, my dad asked me if I would like to go pick the camera up today. Obviously I squealed and said “yes, definitely”! The camera they purchased for me is the Canon Powershot SX600 HS. Not a D-SLR camera, which I am entirely happy with…I actually prefer this camera, it packs quite the punch, so to speak. So far, I have tried taking a few photos at night time/well-lit areas and with/without zoom – I love it! The quality of photos is amazing and the zoom is actually very impressive; it can also shoot 1080p video…so that is absolutely wonderful! I am very grateful for their generous gift and I am so very excited to use it!! I actually really like that it is a small camera – I can take it with me anywhere I go without having a big bulky bag to drag around with me. I am an extremely joyous girl!

I bet you all can guess what I will be doing with my free time. Yep. Bailey videos/photos haha! In all seriousness, there will be many of those, but I will also be videoing and photographing all kinds of things whenever I feel like it. I am very excited!

And here is the egg recipe I mentioned – I believe good food deserves sharing!

are-eggs-healthy-2

The Eggs

  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • seasoning pepper
  • salt
  • butter
  • oil

Step one: fry the garlic in some oil

Step two: add a little bit of butter to the garlic once it beings to brown and gather the garlic into two small piles on the pan

Step three: Crack the eggs over top each small pile of garlic

Step four: season the eggs with salt and seasoning pepper

Step five: cook until desired consistency (I like my yolk runny)

Step six: devour

This “recipe” (I can’t even call it a recipe because it is so darn easy ha-ha) is so tasty and so simple, it quickly became one of my go-to breakfasts. Add a little bit of bacon or hash browns (or both) and you got yourself one heck of a morning dish. You can even jazz it up by putting the egg on a bagel with a little cream cheese and smoked salmon – heavenly!

Comment bellow and let me know of any cool egg recipes you have tried and loved!

Eek! So excited for you and your new camera! Your folks are angels sent on earth ^_^ Excited to see some more Bailey shots à la professional style.
P.S. Those eggs are delicious.. My only mod to the recipe you shared is to use Earth Balance vegan buttery spread (healthier, ethically-friendly, AND lactose-free!) I like my eggs runny, too. 🙂

Speaking of eggs…. please don’t judge me, but here’s a song I ONCE heard, and could never get out of my head (when on the topic of eggs) http://youtu.be/GNndX9qua1o

Hmm…I am personally a butter girl, but that is actually a good alternative to butter to share with people, thanks for suggesting it 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed the eggs – runny yolks are the best!
Oh. My. Goodness. I can’t stop laughing, that egg song is absolutely ridiculous – I enjoyed it hahaha.
